A New Documentary Series Featuring the World’s Most Beautiful and Mysterious Shipwrecks
Dreamwrecks is scheduled to premiere in Fall 2006 on Mystery
(HALIFAX NOVA, SCOTIA – April 7, 2006) Arcadia Entertainment and CanWest MediaWorks are pleased to announce the start of production on Dreamwrecks, a 26-part series documenting the world’s most spectacular shipwrecks.
“Shipwrecks are shrouded in mystery and tragedy,” said John Wesley Chisholm, Producer. “But once they settle on the sea bottom they often create a genesis of new habitat, new coral and new life in the sea. We’re thrilled to reveal these haunting underwater worlds”.
Dreamwrecks documents expeditions to photographically preserve the most visually spectacular shipwrecks of the world before they disappear. The expeditions are led by two lifetime underwater explorers with a passion for the sea: Cathy Salisbury, an underwater photographer and Dominique Serafini, the underwater artist and graphic artist onboard Jacques Cousteau’s “Calypso”.
“We’re pleased to team with Arcadia given their tremendous underwater filming experience,” said Christine Shipton, Vice-President of Original Programming for CanWest MediaWorks. “Dreamwrecks is a visually stunning adventure series set in some of the world’s most beautiful locations. Capturing the mystery and romance of the sea, it’s sure to captivate viewers.”
Shot entirely in high definition, the expeditions take Cathy, Dominique and the Arcadia film crew from their base in Halifax to the Caribbean, the Red Sea, the Aegean, the Mediterranean, Bermuda, South Carolina and Florida on a fast-paced production schedule between March and August.
Dreamwrecks is scheduled to premiere on Mystery in Fall 2006.
