Arcadia Entertainment has TWO shows in finals at Blue Ocean Film Festival For immediate release: HALIFAX, July 23, 2010 – Arcadia Entertainment Inc. is delighted to announce that two AQUATEAM shows have been chosen as finalists in the 2010 International Film Competition at the Blue Ocean Film Festival to be held in Monterey, California August 24-29. Over 350 entries in 19 categories were submitted by the most talented ocean filmmakers around the world and with a panel of 22 distinguished judges. Arcadia had two shows from their production AQUATEAM announced as finalists in the Children’s Category. John Wesley Chisholm, President of Arcadia Entertainment and Executive Producer of AQUATEAM said “The judges results are in and Arcadia has two shows in competition at the Blue Ocean Film Festival! We’ve got the Aquateam up against the very best BBC Children’s has to offer and we’re very excited to be in the competition. We’ll be in Monterey at the end of August with the who’s who of the ocean world to celebrate the sea and our global efforts to share its stories.” About AQUATEAM: Kids get to do more cool stuff in the ocean than they would ever be allowed to do on land, but they have to look out for themselves and each other. Inner space exploration is all about teamwork. Aquateam is a diverse group of regular kids, 5 girls and 3 boys, age 12-14. Together they explore shipwrecks, discover underwater enigmas, work with marine archaeologists and treasure hunters, repair coral reefs, and dive with sharks, turtles, rays, sea lions and dolphins while becoming expert divers and good friends. They search for lost treasure, discover underwater caves, experience night dives and ‘drift’ dives, investigate the infamous undersea ‘Road to Atlantis’, experience an underwater crime scene investigation and even work as marine mammal trainers. Aquateam has aired on Discovery Kids in Canada and is licensed to YTV. It’s been sold to international broadcasters in Sweden, Brunei, Thailand and Norway and continues to generate interest in other countries.
